Rain in China, Sketches, Pumpkins and Hair Pulling

Illustration for Guide Magazine. The article was about a family vacationing in China that helped a man that was in a car accident there. I'm really happy with the way the rain turned out.


Some recent sketches done one night after the girls and my wife went to sleep. I am really thinking about using the lightning-bolt guy as a logo, I like it a lot. If anyone wants to see more of any of these characters please just tell me which one and I'll keep drawing him/her/it.


This was my design for one of our Halloween pumpkins. My favorite part is the sorting hat.


This is the actual carved pumpkin + a few days, which = kinda junky. Though I had to make some edits while I was carving (to simplify) I am sad that the wand and the bottom of Harry's face are gone in this pic. They didn't look bad when I first carved them.


My baby is cute but beware, she can also hurt you pretty bad. (Note the expression of pain on my face. She pulls hair like no other.)

Recent poster ad for Jon Peter Lewis. I don't usually like to work with photos but I really like how this one turned out.


My wife took this picture during our 5-year anniversary trip to Niagara Falls (we went a week ago). Our 2-year-old stayed with my wife's family but we brought our little 7-month-old. This was our ride on the "Maid of the Mist" to get really close to the falls.

Everyone kept saying that our baby was cute. I even heard a group of Japanese tourists say "Kawaii!" when we were in an elevator with them. Being a nerd, I understood it right away and then was able to explain what it meant to my wife later.

Niagara Falls in beautiful, it was wonderful, the town is tourist-y but the view totally makes up for any of that.

I combined a sketch that I had done with a character I had already used (I put him in a space suit) and added some halftone dots to make this. Out of the two versions, I prefer the pink one.

I started this a few months ago (my baby daughter in the comic is now 6 months old and much bigger and more active). Sadly this actually happened.

My first TinyMeat wallet!

This is my first wallet for TinyMeat.

I did this with Zach Trover. He designed the skell-o guy and I did the white haired lady. Then I illustrated the outside and he illustrated the inside. So we each did a take on each other's characters.
